Manchester United ended City's 37 match unbeaten run this Sunday, and are now six points clear at the top of the Premier League. City started the match with full control and were enjoying much of the possession until Young snatched the ball from City and picked up Rooney who was on a counter and saw the ball past the City goalkeeper Joe Hart marking the first of the match. Rooney doubled the score when Rafael's cross found Rooney, taking his tally to 10, in the Manchester derby matches.
United were 2-0 up at the end of the first half.

Tevez was on for City in the second half, and he was straight into action troubling the United defense. City eventually broke United's defense when Yaya Toure managed to put the ball in the United's net just after 15 minutes from second half. City continued to press United and finally got their equalizer with a strike from Zabaleta making the sides level on goals with just 5 minutes for the final whistle.
United were awarded a free kick wards before the penalty area which was taken by van Persie, and what may stand out to be the goal of the season. United were successful in taking revenge over their rivals in their own home ground which cost them the title last season.
United beat City at the Etihad where they were unbeaten for almost two seasons. United now are on top with 39 points from 16 matches 6 clear of City in second.
