Mesut Özil scored a brace to save the day for Real Madrid as they were 2-1 down in the  dying minutes of the first half. Valladolid's striker Manucho was the first to strike from a corner due some sloppy defending from Khedira which marked the opening goal of the match. Benzema leveled just after five minutes with a simple tap in off a cross from Callejon. Manucho managed to strike once more from the corner, this time it was a mix-up from Casillas and Ramos which made the goal for the Vallodolid's striker.
