Arsenal move to the third in the table as they win against Wigan, all thanks to Arteta who once again converted from the penalty spot, this Saturday night. Arsenal were not so comfortable as the home side looked threatening with their burst-out runs from the middle. The Arsenal defense had a tough time in the early stages of the match when the Ivory Coast striker Kone went past Mertesacker only to see his shot edge past from the Arsenal goal line. The first half ended 0-0 as both sides fail to open their scoring.

Arsenal win over Wigan with a penalty from Arteta
The second half started off better for the away side as they saw much of the position and eventually they pressure paid off when Walcott was brought down by Beausejour in the penalty box, it was a straight penalty offered by the referee. Arteta cooled finished with the side netting as Arsenal see another match "off" as the winning side. Arsenal next face West Ham on the Boxing Day.
